They were close father and son. I wonder if Alencon was close to his brother Count de Eu ?

Lol, Eric, if you spent more time paying attention to spelling and diacritics, as in Alençon and Count of Eu / Comte d'Eu, you'd probably not be able to irritate so many members by firing off so many vacuous posts machine-gun style. :-)

If I followed the low standard you set, I might write greven av Ø!

Here it is--it's on the front cover of Prince Michael's album, the album which was published by Ted Rosvall in 2009 : )

Could someone ID all the persons in the picture, thanks in advance.

Prince Michael's book, the new English one "Bourbon Orleans - A family album" only has two photos of Sophie (one time of her engagement to Ludwig of Bavaria and the other in old age) and they are quite well known. pity. when i got it it was a disappointed that it only had two photos of her.  One photo of a young Louise; two photos of Emmanuel (one of him alone and other with his wife and daughters) and two of the Duke (one as a young man and quite handsome and other in midage) and one of Henriette, Emmanuel's wife.

other then that i love this book, a lot of unknown photos of other family members of the house of Bourbon-Orleans, including a family group photo of the Danish Royal Family with the Russians, along with Alix of Hesse.

Yes. in the other book, there is a group photo with both Alix of Wales with Sophie of Alencon in England.

You can see Ferdinand d'Alencon on the front and back covers, too. :-)
Ich aber breite trauernd aus
die weiten weissen Schwingen,
Und kehr' ins Feenreich nach Haus -
Nichts soll mich wieder bringen.

Don't think there were a lot of photos of Sophie Alencon with her sisters towards their late middle ages.  :(

The interests in the children of Ludovika (except Sisi) are now bigger, maybe one day an art historian will make a book about them.

I believe there is somewhere in an old attic a box with lots of CDVs and photos of the Possenhofen children. And no one knows. (I´m just kidding..)

No...There are lots of cdvs of Ludovika's children when young (lots of Mathilde Trani, Sophie Alencon and Max Emmanuel particularly). However starting from 1920, there are none. Although both Mathilde Trani and Maria Sofia of Naples were still alive. Sophie Charlotte died in the fire, but before that did have her photo taken with her husband and children after she came out of the mental institution.
