I have posted two in the Christian 8. thread and one in the portrait thread. They are not the best, but when I have time I will find some others to post.   :)

Kirsten Munck, second wife of King Christian IV (1598-1658)[/b]

She was born on July 6, 1598 in Norlund. Her parents were Ludwig Munch zu Norlund and Ellen Marsvin zu Ellensburg. In 1615 Kirsten Munk became the second wife of King Christian IV. She was intelligent and independent person, but she was also very close to her husband.
In 1630, she left the Court, because of the estrangement between herself and the King; she also had an affair with Rhinegrave Otto Ludwig. From then on she lived at her estates Bollerand Rosenvold in Jutland, where at times she was under house arrest.

From what I've read, it seems that the marriage of Kirsten Munk and Christian IV was a morganatic one because her parents were noble, not royal.  As a result, Kirsten was not recognized as the Queen of Denmark, and their children were not allowed to use Christian's coat-of-arms, etc.

They separated because Kirsten had been unfaithful to Christian while he was on campaign in Germany, and because she tried to poison him once he returned to Denmark.   After the separation, Kirsten was sometimes put under house arrest because of her incessant plots and schemes.

Yes, kirsten Munk never became Queen, but received the title of Countess of Shleswig-Holstein. Her marriage to Christian IV is only mentioned in his diary, which caused some problems later on for her children. Kirsten was young when she married Christian and after being pregnant almost  during the entire marriage, she was bored and had an affair, and she was removed permanently from the court.
The marriage produced (among many others) the daughter, Leonora Christina, one of the most famous women in Danish history.

Another portrait of Marie, painted by Jens Juel. I don't know the year, but she looks very young. My guess would be she's newlywed or about to be married.
