The bridge Alexandre III in Paris

(1/3) > >>

isabel:
One of the most beautiful bridges in Paris has the name of Alexander III, why??

I belive that Nicholas II opened it.

Svetabel:
Yes, that bridge is the most beautiful in Paris. I was fascinated with it more than with the Eiffel  ;D.
Nicholas II did opened it.

Belochka:
Pont Alexandre III certainly is the most elegant and ornate bridge which I have ever seen.

It was Nikolai II, his son who laid the foundation stone in 1896, to consolidate the ratification of the Russo-French alliance.

The bridge was opened in 1900 for the World Exposition. I believe that Nikolai II was not present at it's official opening.

Belochka:

I expended almost a full roll of film on the Pont Alexandre III , ensuring I captured its features at street level and from the Seine river cruise.

It was just so magnificent ...  ;D

PssMarieAmelie:
It is magnificent. If only I was older so I could go there and view it in all its splendour myself.
