Pictures of Alexei and his Romanov Cousins

I thought that too, Julia. But Ortino, why would it be unlikely that they would be Romanov cousins?

The Imperial children didn't spend a lot of time with their Romanov relations and when they did, seemingly a limited number of them, which is why I thought that perhaps they weren't family. I have not seen many photographs of the children with their young Romanov cousins.

Daniel Briere, is that really 1915? I think it is winter 1912-13. First, it is from the Ania`s album for 1912. And in 1915 Maria was taller. Am I right?

Both Anastasia and Alexei look too young for it to be 1915. Anastasia is also quite small both weight wise and height wise, so I'm also going with the 1912 date. Alexei looks more or less 10 there.

EDIT: WOAH. As The cover of Fate of the Romanovs is the same picture, I checked the description of the photo and it says that it's from 1917!! How could that be?

Can't be, and it's not. I also would put it as being before WW1. Maybe winter 1913-1914.

The one of NOTMAA with Xenia's boys can't be earlier than 1910, because the littlest boy, Vasili, would only have been three. 1912 sort of makes sense, he also looks around 5. 1915 makes sense as well, he would be about seven or eight. I'm iffy about 1912, because that would have been the year of Spala, but depending on which year this was taken (early Jan-Feb etc. 1912 or Dec-Jan 1912/13) the latter would be struck out as Alexei wouldn't have been up walking. So maybe it's either early 1912 or sometime 1915
