This thread has rendered me speechless.  I'm between screeching laughter and jaw-dropping incredulity...

SOPHIE - is the woman deliberately trying to look totally absurd?  As far as I can see, her (or the tax payer's) money would be far better spent on a good hairdresser to get rid of those rat tails.  She has no taste.  

The late PRINCESS MARGARET - always looked like her clothes were made out of old damask curtains but these pictures make her look almost like some sort of bizarre clown!

Incredibly, Anne looks better than these two!  She may be dowdy and dated but at least she doesn't look ridiculous! Absolutely unbelievable.

Some of those hats are no more extreme than those worn in the early 20th century when it was possible to find WHOLE birds ticked within the folliage.

About birds in hats, I remember that 18th century wigs were so exaggerate: very tall, ornated with fruits, leaves, jewels and living rats. The rats lived inside the wigs and eat the wax and tissue which the wigs were made.  :-/

Not so quite, my dear GDElla. Some photos are from the Windsor's Easter and Christmas reunions. Quite amazing: all family togheter and they are trying to look the worst!

No, I think Eugenie's hat are just plain ugly.  Nothing sophisticated about any of her choices.  They do not even match her clothes.  Ugly! Ugly! Ugly!

Thay all look like they are attending a Shriner's Fund Raising Picnic or the Kentucky State Fair and won those hats at a "ring toss" game.  Three tries for a quater!
