Oh my stars !!!!
What a blast from the past. There were 6 (naturally) of these books published by Robert Hale. Each one was written by a different author and each book was gold with a beautiful picture on the cover of the particular wife and Henry. I had them all as a young girl and they were my prized possession. Sadly they were lost during a house move. The novel about Anne Boleyn had a particularly beautiful cover from what I recall. Thanks for posting.

Are these for young girls, Kimberly? They look lovely and I'm interested in trying them!

Not particularly aimed at young girls really. They aren't spot on historically accurate but they are delightful novels to kick back and relax with. I think I am going to get the set:-)

They weren't written for children/young adults, but I read them when I was about 12, and had no problem with them that I remember.  They certainly weren't as good as some I have read since, but they were okay.

I'm so sad why the painters distort their real beauty. Anyway, painters can't paint perfectly.

Amazing colored fotos  by the most wonderful Yelena Aleksandrovna. Endless thank you very much!

Does anybody know about that painting that might be Katherine Parr or Lady Jane Grey?
I always wondered which one it is...
