I like this painting VERY much:

Charles I is so noble and royal on this one, and James (II) very handsome and cute.

It was quite fashionable for men back then.

Anne of Denmark also went in for the one earring look. I'm glad it went out of fashion, personally.

Minette had a hunchback, which was so slight that she could successfully hide it most of the time with carefully cut clothes.  Henrietta Maria had a hunchback as well.

James I and Charles I had very thin, weak legs.  Charles I couldn't walk unaided until he was four, while James also had problems walking throughout his life.  There is no evidence that other members of the family had problems with their legs in childhood like those of James and Charles.

Both Charles I and James II stuttered.  While in exile in France, Charles II reportedly stuttered as well, probably from stress.

Poor William of Gloucester suffered from hydrocephalus.  In early childhood, he was already wearing adult-sized hats.  His parents, in an effort to force him to overcome his difficulties in walking and climbing stairs, had him beaten, which naturally did no good.  William's legs were fine; it was his oversized head that was the problem.

Frederick Holmes attests this to 'mild neuromuscular disorder' or something of the kind.

Correct me if I'm wrong - does hydrocephalus mean swelling of fluid on the brain or something?

Hydrocephalus means water on the brain; essentially, the brain fills with spinal fluid.

Hydrocephalus can be hereditary, but to the best of my knowledge, none of the other members of the Stuart family suffered from it.  Perhaps it came from the Danish royal family through George.  His condition might have been caused by a number of other factors though, such as a cyst on his brain or a brain tumor.  Unfortunately, there was no such thing as good medical treatment or advice in those days, and neither Anne nor George wanted to make allowances for William's condition.

Was there a history of neurological disorders in the Danish  royal family...did George have something similar.? I wonder wether William's Hydrocephaly was congenital or a developemental problem. Is there any record of him suffering from, say, meningitis as a child which could possibly have caused it?

I haven't read much about the Danish royal family except for Christian IV.  I believe he was George's grandfather.  As far as I know, none of Christian IV's children suffered from hydrocephalus or birth defects, which is flabbergasting if you consider how much Christian IV and the rest of his family drank; his reign seems to have been a joyfully drunken bash from start to finish.   :)

Its possible that William had an infection in infancy or early childhood that was left unrecorded; very little was recorded about children in the Stuart era, even royal ones.  Its also possible that Anne suffered from such an illness as well.  At the time that she was pregnant with William, the Glorious Revolution was going on, and it took several months for things to settle down.  If Anne suffered a serious illness during her pregnancy, such as meningitis, it may well have gone unrecorded by contemporary letter writers and diarists, who would have been far more interested in the political crisis.
