Don't think I have seen that one, but I have been enjoying movies and documentaries from Laura Mabee's Frozen Tears site. Do you know what year that show was made? The reason I ask is...I wonder if the same mistakes would be made by the producers etc if it was made in 2008? Something to ponder.

Not sure, but I think it was made in the last 5 years or so... Maybe a bit earlier. Yes, similar mistakes, although somewhat less of them. For example, they would show a photo of Alexander III and say "Nicholas's grandfather was asassinated by terrorists"...

Yupper, they do that alot and it annoys me at the best of time. My partner usually tells me to hush up and let her watch the darn shows without my commentaries--to which I'm quiet until the next goof up.  However, I am grateful for the shows being on TV and being able to purchase them--mistakes and all. I just enjoy watching them and see the IF come alive on TV. I just buy the DVD, pop it into my laptop, put on my earphones and am one with the Romanov's and history. Life is good!

That's how I try to look at it too, although I prefer shows with less annoying and obvious mistakes... But it seems almost unavoidable.

Unfortunately the producers of such shows are not as perfect and well read about the Romanovs as we are. Sigh, such is life!!!...:)

Now back to The Last Days of the Romanovs

There is a new Russian film on Rasputin called "Zagovor"  in English "Conspiracy". It is in PAL format originally released in 2007. The Director is Stanislav Libin and stars Ivan Okhlobystin (who is quite interestingly a actor turned Russian Orthodox Priest.

Has anyone heard of it or seen it.

The site I found it on is a Russian dvd site called Bukinist. They have a copy of the cover which includes Nicholas and Alexandra and 3 other men.

Sound really interesting!
I did some research to see if I could find anymore information and all I found was an article.
Apparently, if I'm reading the article correctly, the film will focus on British involvement with Rasputin's death, causing it to be quite a controversial film..
Here is the quote:

"It is unclear whether the church is backing the project because of the allegations of British involvement in the murder - a fact that is more the focus of the book than the film - or because of its sympathetic portrayal of Rasputin."

Here is a link to the article

Either way! It looks good! I would like to get my hands on a copy! I'll let you know if I get anywhere!

Edited to add:
Here is the image of the film that I have found:
