Dear Kimberly,

I'm so sorry that your dear mom was lost to this dreaded disease. I don't think there is anyway one can really prepare oneself to understanding why a precious life is taken because of cancer. I have seen my mother-in-law and many other fine lives working to defeat it, but for most it has been a very difficult and losing fight. Although her physicians did not tell her that they had also found a new tumor, and that the cancer has spread, I think she knew and had somehow prepared herself, because my husband says she now speaks about her death soon enough. I have not been unfortunately been able to visit her, but hope to tomorrow or this weekend.

Thank you my friend Kimberly for your kind thoughts. I shall share your thoughts with my husband and other members of the family. Your thoughts and prayers indeed help most sincerely at times such as this. God Bless !

I just received news from my mother that my grandfather has suffered a massive stroke. I don't really know too much more--I'm waiting for news--but any good thoughts or prayers would be much appreciated, not just for my grandfather but also my grandmother. This happened while they were on vacation in Florida and so no family is with her--though that should soon change as my Mom (and probably her siblings) are planning on going down. My grandfather and I have always been particular close so the news is particularly distressing.

Thanks so much for your good thoughts.

I had talked to my Mom (now down in Florida, along with her sister and brother) and he was stable. There's bleeding on the brain and some swelling though and they're waiting for some news from the neurologist. A complicating problem is that he'd had a narrowing of the arteries which put him at risk for a stroke but this was actually a stroke resulting from bleeding (he has a complicated medical and medicinal history which complicates everything and is very confusing). So, he's still at risk from the other kind of stroke and that could be exacerbated by the steps needed to correct the current problem. Right now it's a wait-and-see situation.

It's additionally distressing coming on the heels of Bob's Nana dying a few days before Christmas--it's just a sucker-punch feeling.  :(

Please pray for my grandfather. He was recently diagnosed with cancer and went through surgery this week. He was doing well until yesterday morning. When the doctor asked him to cough, his laceration opened up and a blood clot was realeased into his body. He is now in surgery to find it.  :-[

Holly,

Your Grandfather is in my prayers. I will pray for him and for the rest of your family, as I know this must be a very hard time for you all. I recently lost a very close and dear friend of mine, who was 20, to Leukemia.
God Bless you and your family

Dear Holly,
I'm so sorry. I hope your Grandfather will get better soon, and I'll pray for him and your family.
And I'd like to ask for some prayer, 'cause my Grandfather is in hospital and as doctors said that only miracle can save him, so prayers and good thoughts will be very appreciate.
God bless & keep you Holly and your all family,

I wish you all the best, my mum has died of cancer ten years ago (it was another kind than your mother-in law´s) and it was hard to me, because I was only fifteen there and she 46, but in the moment she died I was in church, and we had a very religious lady helping her through the night of the day she died, and I think in the end it was good to her that she did not have to suffer anymore... But for me there is always the problem that I am afraid of dying from cancer as well, because I am not always a healthy person as well and have some problems.

Dear Merrique,
I am sure your mother will recover soon and will be on her feet again. I know how helpless you must be feeling but it may comfort you to know that your mother is in our prayers. Please keep us posted.

My Mother called today and the decision has been made, based on recent setbacks, to take my grandfather off life-support since he seems to just be suffering right now. He'll be taken to a hospice and it will be a matter of days after that before he passes.

Thank you all for your good wishes and prayers and know they were much appreciated by all.

Merrique, I pray for your mother and that she will be back up soon.
Grandduchessella, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather! I will keep him in my prayers and that God will bless you and your family. It's always terrible for a family passing.  :(
Holly, I also pray for your grandfather. My grandfather also had cancer. My your grandpa have the strength to defeat it.
Hugs and many prayers and blessings to all of you.
My first intention is almost silly. I have been going through a very hard time trying to figure out what my true religion should be- I am leaning towards Islam despite being raised Catholic and attending my 8th grade year at a Catholic school, and I am afraid of what my parents will say if they find out (my father is very biased about Muslims; my mother is a very devout Catholic). I've been praying for guidance.
I also ask that you pray for my Uncle Joe, who is mildly mentally retarded and might have cancer.

Sasha,

If your parents love you, they'll understand your choice. And besides, you have that sweet little puppy to help you! Just explain to your parents why you wish to be Muslim and they'll either try to convince you otherwise or accept it. But stand your ground. Be strong. :)

And my prayers are indeed for your uncle.

I've read this thread and I'm awfully sorry to read such a sad news. I know too well what is to suffer such a big loss, as my mother died two months ago. I know that the pain is unbearable and I wish with all my heart that this suffering never reachs not even a single member of this forum.

My thoughts and prayers are devoted to you all. My best wishes and my sincere hope that a sure recovery will come, too. God -or Buddah, Allah or however anyone may call Him- won't let us down, don't doubt it.
