Hello, let me tell you that, although I appear as the creator of this thread, in fact I did not. Two years ago another member of the forum started it with a question about the Queens of Bohemia and I was the first one to reply, but later this person deleted his original first post, making me look like I started it. Now we forum members can't delete our posts, but two years ago we were allowed to do it.

Dear Trenk80,
 don't bother !
that's not a fight against you...

It is just a way (also funny, I hope) to obtain a better quality of the texts on the Forum. This forum is a sentimental and romantic one (many many people are here to express their sweet feelings of pity, their love for beauty, etc...) BUT every people, here, use HISTORY.

History is a science AND  a cultural collective MEMORY and HERITAGE; History is like Nature, it belongs to everybody on the earth. So it has to be respected. For that reason some of us try to correct wrong dates, wrong titles, wrong judgments... and so on. One of the important things of our human culture is that "all is complex" and "all is not equal". I mean:  cultural phenomenons are highly complex and  among cultural phenomenons there are differences (and somebody could add there are hierarchies). Picasso is not a tagger, Montesquieu is not a cartoon, the culture of MittelEuropa (and specialy the Bohemian one) is not the Balkanic one. For an entire people (becaue in a society everyone is linked to anybody) it represents a huge investment in brain, lifes, money, time, etc... during 8 centuries.

An other problem of the forum is the respect of the language. Everybody writes english, but many people are NOT english - I am french and NOT FLUENT in english ... so, many texts (also mines) are full of errors, don't make sense... . We need corrections, we have to accept its as we join the Forum.

And we all can try to respect our common inheritance: History.

Oh dear, it is so sad! The Queens of Bohemia are still stuck in the Balkans.

Apparently there is no right section for this topic. Maybe Medialized noble families would be suitable, although premysl, jagellon, luxemburg dynasties belonged to royal families. But every royal family is aristocratic family as well.

Princess Susan, do you not think it deserves a section of its own, so as we can discuss the various dynasties such as the Premysls, Jagellons and Luxembourgs as well as George of Podebrady, or, at the very least, to be moved into the Habsburg section?

I agree with you Greenowl. Such a topic in 'Balkan royal families', looks very ridiculous. Somebody should create section 'Middle european royal families' or something like that.
Habsburgs section would be more suitable, although of course no all of czech's kings were Habsburgs. Maybe the topic can be named 'The time before, or middle habsburgs'. ;-)

And do you know the main moderators of this topic or of all the forum? We can write them and change this error.... Czech history (and also history of the ather of middle evrope´s lands) is very interesting and it should have got some "own" place

Hi Kaku!

That is what I thought and I actually wrote to the moderator about it on 02nd. October last. She was very kind, but said that moving a thread is a decision for the FA, and that he was very busy but would deal with the matter in due course. Nothing has happened since. I think most people agree that this thread is most definitely in the wrong place. A slight problem was that nobody was certain exactly where to put it, and whether Czech royalty merits a place on its own, a place in the Habsburg thread or perhaps in a thread devoted to Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and Polish Kings and Queens.  Maybe if all interested parties were to petition the FA it might help to speed up matters?

Hi Greenowl,
It´s a good idea and you are able to write a petition and organize it?

Hi Kaku,

I have decided to do a bit of "networking" (I hope that is the correct term) and have written to the Moderators of the Habsburg Section (which of course is one of the suggested future locations for this thread) to ask them (a) to take a look at the various comments/suggestions that have been made on the topic, and (b) for their opinion and advice. I will await their feedback, which will hopefully help us to proceed further. I will keep you posted on any developments.

Cheers,
GREENOWL

I think that the topic is allright here, as the Habsburgs were Bohemian kings as well, and there are many connections. Think of Rudolf II, who desposed his court to Prague etc.
Thanks for posting that interesting topic here, that's good.

Dear Moderators,

I am sure the Bohemian Queens are pleased to be returned to their rightful position and I trust they join me in saying a heartfelt "Dekuji Vam"!!

Cheers,
GREENOWL
