Olga & Tatiana's room:

Maria & Anastasia's room:

so: you could paint your room pink, and paint butterflies and flowers on the walls, and be sure to put a lot of picture frames in it ;D

This one comes from a book of Pierre Gilliard and Constantin Savitch "La Fausse Anastasie", it is labelled like the bedroom of the little pair, but there is little change with this picture (like the door, and if you look to the right too)

YAY, A NEW PICTURE!  ;D I'm going with the big pair's room. The doors in the room of the little pair are different (the ones behind Marie) than the ones originally posted. The walls are also too light to be Anastasia and Marie's. Olga and Tatiana's walls were pink; Anastasia and Marie's, grey. Finally, the bed on the right is too far back in the first picture to be the little pair's bedroom. In the picture of Marie and Nicholas, it is clear that one of the beds is very close to them.

Life may not be the party we expected, but while we are here, might as well dance..

That photo is identified in at least two books as the Grand Duchesses' bedroom, but it's not! Olga & Tatiana's room was pink with dragonflies, while Maria & Anastasia's was grey with butterflies.

With Ortino's help, I've figured out this watercolor is the girls' classroom. It's described on the main AP site as "decoartecd with an olive-colored wallpaper and a stencilled frieze of pine cones and owls". Here's a photo:

I'm glad we cleared that up Sarushka! ;D It bothers me greatly that several books have incorrectly identified the bedrooms of the grand duchesses or have been unable to distinguish between them. I do understand though that that correct identification is not a main priority, but still, it just confuses people.
