There's probably no chance that any of you have seen this movie, but it's one of my favorites, 'Coming Home' with Jane Fonda, Bruce Dern and John Voight, from 1978. It's about a woman who volunteers at a veteran's hospital once her husband goes off to fight, but she falls in love with one of the patients who is paralysed. Just when she starts to feel life is worth living (as she didn't have the greatest of relationships with her husband, who was controlling, etc) her own husband comes back, mentally disturbed by all he's seen. She has to make the choice between them, and it's hard. During the very last scenes, when Luke, the man she met in the hospital is giving a speech condemning the war to a bunch of students, while her husband Bob is contemplating ending his life, Tim Buckley's haunting song 'Once I Was' is playing. It's my favorite song of all time. Sorry for rambling, but I just felt I had to give a bit of background here!  ;)

Here are the lyrics:

Once I was a soldier
And I fought on foreign sands for you
Once I was a hunter
And I brought home fresh meat for you
Once I was a lover
And I searched behind your eyes for you
And soon there'll be another
To tell you I was just a lie

(chorus) And sometimes I wonder
Just for a while
Will you remember me

And though you have forgotten
All of our rubbish dreams
I find myself searching
Through the ashes of our ruins
For the days when we smiled
And the hours that ran wild
With the magic of our eyes
And the silence of our words

(chorus)

I love the song 'I Wanna Beloved By You' from 1958 from the film 'Some Like It Hot' starring Marilyn Monroe. Monroe sung that song, and many others in the movie like: 'Some Like It Hot', 'I'm Throug With Love', and 'Running Wild'. In the movie she payed 'Sugar Kane', and she worn a dres that is very famous, by costume designer Orry-Kelly.

Lyrics:

I wanna be loved by you, just you,
And nobody else but you,
I wanna be loved by you, alone!
Boop-boop-de-boop!

I wanna be kissed by you, just you,
Nobody else but you,
I wanna be kissed by you, alone!

I couldn't aspire,
To anything higher,
Than, to feel the desire,
To make you my own!
Ba-dum-ba-dum-ba-doodly-dum-boo

I wanna be loved by you, just you,
And nobody else but you,
I wanna be loved by you, alone!

I couldn't aspire,
To anything higher,
Than to feel the desire,
To make you my own,
Ba-dum-ba-dum-ba-doodly-dum-boo!

I wanna be loved by you, just you,
Nobody else but you,
I wanna be loved by you,
ba-deedly-deedly-deedly-dum-ba-boop-bee-doop

Boop-boop-a-doop!

Awww that's cute!!!!!

In 2003 Elena Berezhnaya and Sikharulidze (Olympic Gold Medalists in pairs skating 2002) did an Elvis Presley/Marilyn Monroe program, that song was in it!

I heard that Voight won an Oscar for Coming Home. I'll have to check it out. He was amazing as FDR in Pearl Harbor, one of the only good things about that movie.

Yes, both Voight and Fonda won an Oscar that year for leading actor/actress, respectively.

Sunrise, Sunset from "Fiddler on the Roof". Its one of my favorite movies and my dad says it was my grandmothers too. My dad used to sing it to me and I have a music box that plays it. I think it is a beautiful song.

LOLOLOLOOLOL Kimberly  ;D ;D

Disney songs are my favorite movie songs:

Mostly everything from:

Pocahontas
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Beauty and The Beast
Sleeping Beauty
The Little Mermaid
Alice In Wonderland
Snow White
Cinderella

Non-Disney:

Flying Dreams (The Secret of NIMH)
A Love Before Time (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon)
Remember Me (Troy)
For Always (Josh Groban duet with someone, from A.I.)
Tears To Shed (Corpse Bride, the song made me cry)
How Do I Live (Con Air, I prefer Leann Rimes' version)
Kiss From A Rose
Tears In Heaven
The Glory Of Love

My all-time favorite movie song has to be:

Everything I Do (I Do It For You) from Robin Hood: Prince of `Thieves

;D Sorry about that I love musicals. Here's another one I like...lets see who can name it first!
"Rain drops on roses, Whiskers on kittens..."
That should probably be enough!
