Dearie Plaid McJanet,

As promised, I sent 100 yards of McClaimant tartan from the Scotch House on Regent Street in London by express post on Friday. It should arrive on Tuesday in dear Tsarkoe. So get those Imperial Seamstresses on the project. You are all expected at Balmoral on Saturday, October 15th at 9PM for the Ghillies' Ball. (We are on our own for dinner, so better kiss up C&C as I hear they are throwing a dinner party before the ball.) Perhaps dear Anna can wrangel us all an invite...

Does anyone have an idea where I can get more of those red m&m candies? They seem to have a miraculous effect on my mother-in-law...who now seems to have disappeared in the AP basement while looking for her old wellington boots and umbrella...

I was looking over the requests for Imperial Claimant Coats of Arms, and it seems everyone wants the motto "It's All About Me"---should we draw straws? Or perhaps the dear Tsar can decide who gets that particular motto...or perhaps will decide we all can have it???

Caio for now, GD Melissa and the dear doggies wearing plaid collars and leashes

Maybe that motto should be the family motto. As for me, I want something really confusing in a dead language like Latin so that no one knows what the heck it means and they have to ask me.

And I'm extremely sick of the basement. I just read Poe and I'm sure there are bodies in the walls. And NO the flashlight thing isn't funny.

Dearest Courtiers:

We've been here three days in the basement.  Had to have meals brought down by the maids and footmen.

The idea that GD Melissa has for an imperial motto is wonderful.  The one she came up with is pure genius.

I thought that being royal you should have lofty ideals but no, GD Mellissa has the best idea.  The motto is "It's All About Me". I guess I can stop worrying about freeing the serfs for now.

Here it is in several of our imperial languages:

"E Tutto Circa Me"

"Helemaal Zowat Mij"

Most royal of all:  "Esta Definitivo Mi"

Tsar Doug..........relaxing with the Duchesses in the basement.

Hm... it does sound as though some appear to be getting into the "spirit", shall we say, what with All Hallow's Eve coming up and all.  I was thinking of hosting a "Haunted Archcherubskaya" party.  What do you think?  Vlad said something about being in town around then - I'm sure he'd be the "Life of the Party".

;D

Yours,
Tashenka

All You Darling Claimants,

Well, before you all decided to become Raiders of the Lost Cigarrette Holders, I was going to thank you darrrlings for making the trip to the pumpkin patch.  But I warned you all not to get the green bumpy one, although it does look good disguised as Frankinstein.

The little petting zoo there was quite fun, especially when the swan stole T.D.'s cup of feed, although we warned him it would be taken away if he kept taking little nibbles of it. ;)

I have to say that the haunted corn maze was the best of all, though.  I just loved it when Auntie Janet tackled the zombie. ;)

As for Auntie Anna's wheelchair racing, although she is almost completely healed, she told me she is considering going to the Olympics.  Maybe even Nascar (yes, on her wheelchair ;)).  She had tea with Jeff Gordan before you decided to go treasure hunting (which reminds me, if I can find my eye patch, I would join you).

Watch out for the trap doors, and keep an eye out for zombies (although Auntie Janet may be able to take them out with her karote chop ;) ;D).

Shopping for Spoooky Halloween costumes,
Shvibzik :)

Dearies All,

Just want to advise everyone that I see no need when we are in private to refer to ourselves by our full titles...I only expect to be referred to as "GD Melissa, Baroness vonCrankypants" at formal Court Events. Amongst ourselves, GD Melissa is what I want my intimate friends and family members to call me, as full protocol can make our day to day lives very dreary! You are all such dear lambs! Caio for now, GD Melissa & the dear doggies

IMPERIAL  NOTICE # 12, 346.997

As for myself, in public with strangers around all,   the courtiers shall call me " Your most Imperial And Serene Highness Of Majesty Tsar Douglas" [or something like that , that sounds official - or just make up some title].

In private all courtiers must call me "Dougie Dear",  like GD Anna does.

Now, is that  crystal clear? ;D :) :D ;D

When I see GD  Janet outside in the park, I say "Hi there GD, J"

When I see GD Anna in the hallway, I say "Good morning, Bonbon".

When I call  King of Monaco, I say, "Hello there,  Mister Dance man,  how ya doing with the Macarena?".

Yes, Tsar Doug, and the next time you hail me as "GD J," be prepared to meet a rather large baseball bat.  >:(

Coming out swinging, I remain

The GD/GP  8) Janet

P.S. Darlings, I'll be responding shortly (or is that tall-ly?) to your questions and comments. Fact is I recently have been attending a Palace Emergency Preparedness course so that I will know what to do in case of earthquake, hurricane, or (God forbid) another revolution.  :-[

Being the youngest (?) on this thread, I will have to call you Mr. Tsar, Ms. W, Anna (you already said to call you Anna), Miss Aleksandria, Ms. Melissa, Ms. Schvibzik, and Ms. R. Have I forgot anyone??

Please, when referring to me, say "the low one". Seeing as age is everying.

By the way, whatever happened to Mr. Valentin (or Valentine)?

As usual MY DEARIES,

Yesterday Dougie dear and I nearly escaped a Palace revolution.
What a fight, my dress completely ruined, my hairdo out of style and worst of all a broken nail.

But.....We didn't give in, OH NO, we stood firm and defended our principles. All the courtiers one front.
Just this once.

What's in a name, we asked ourselves.
Well it caused all our young courtiers an identity crisis :o They don't know how to address themselves or us the eldery royals anymore. They were very upset, Dougie dear and all the GD's ran up and down with red M&Ms all night. We are exhausted :P
Even little GD Ritka called herself the low one, isn't that sad  :'(
Well, listen to me dearie, there's no such a thing as the low one, even our servants have names. Yes the big Ego does exist but that's another story.

So I will call you Miss Ritka, and I'm just GD Anna. Mrs. is for the royal Ladies who are in affairs and that sort of things I will tell you some day.

Bonbon is only for Tsar Doug, that's his monarchical privilege.

Anna 8)

So I don't have to call my dog Ms. Snowball?  ;)

Thank you so much for clearing that up.  ;D

I said once that I was not sure about my title, since I lost my memory some years ago. I don't know if I'm a Grand Duchess or a Princesse. ..So, the youngest of the board (our little dear GD Ritka among them) may call me simply "Aunty Nastya" and the rest of the courtiers "Nastenka" or "Natasha". It's all right.

And...Why our blessed Tsar took the nickname "Bombon"? It was the Robespierre's brother's nickname! How the Tsar would take a nickname from a Revolutionnary! My God!

Aunty Nastya.

Dearest GD Melissa and the Dear Doggies:

Thank you so much for the wee giftie parcel containing the generous length of McClaimant plaid, which my royal claimant seamstress is fashioning into the most fabulous dress to wear to the Ghillies Ball this Saturday.* Och, but 'tis a wearrrry wearrrry GD/GP I am, preparrrring for disasters and a Ghillies Ball too. Plus, I have been asked to give a karate demonstration at same event. Aye, 'tis true! So that I must needs consume a hearty bowl'o'oats that morn or I'll niver ha' the strength.

Och, but do na warrrry . . . we hee-land claimants are a hearty bunch. Just ask our dear T.D., who wears his kilt sans undergarments whille taking his early mornin' health walk on the heath.

;)

Blessings from the "I'll Take th' High Road, And You Take th' Low Road" GD/GD McJanet

* In addition to the traditional McClaimant plaid, the bodice is to display our royal claimant coat of arms with "It's All About Me," the royal claimant motto, in 17 different languages including Swahili.
