Do you mean Lobanov-Rostovskii?

Prince L.-R. was a Minister of Foreign Affairs.

This thread lists a Princess L-R. who was buried in Cannes:

Perhaps this is the person you are looking for? :)

While we're on the subject, I have a two questions about this family.
On the Almanach de Gotha website, there is a Prince John Lobanov-Rostovsky pictured at the Gotha launch party. Does anyone know anything about him? I assume he might have an Anglophone mother because of his name. Is he married, have children?

Also, there is a Sergei Lobanov-Rostovsky who teaches English at Kenyon College in Ohio. I'd like to know from whom he descends. Thank you.

Prince Alexander Lobanov-Rostovskoy was the author of "The Grinding Mill" (Macmillan,1935).He had emigrated to the USA and mentions 2 sons (Oleg & Igor?). His mother may be the Princess buried on the cote de azur as he mentions a villa in Nice.

(By the way, what's the Russian word for the name Jacques or the name James????)

This is a link to Ursula's magnificent site on Jewels of the various royalty houses. On this specific link is a photo of a young women, who could be Princess Vera Nicolaevna Lobanov-Rostov, but I'm not 100% sure.
Can someone tell if this is her?

Could this be your 'John'? Prince Ivan Konstantinovich Lobanov-Rostovsky, born 1932, has one son Pavel, born 1956.

Prince Sergei Andreevich Lobanov-Rostovsky is the much younger brother of Princes Igor and Oleg. He was born in 1969 when he father was 77 years old. Obviously his father married a much younger woman on his later marriage. By the way, Prince Igor had two daughters Eliza (born 1956) and Chandra (born 1957).

The most recent Prince Lobanov-Rostovsky to bear the name of Alexander was born in 1850. The next older Alexanders were born in 1821, 1788 and 1752. According to my sources, the father of Princes Oleg and Igor (and Sergei) was Prince Andrei Anatolievich (born 1892).

It was Prince Andrei that wrote "The Grinding Mill"
