To steal the Coronation Egg they would have to go to Russia. It used to belong to Forbes and was part of the Vekselberg purchase.

In the movie the egg moved to a museum for a day and then was planning on going back, and the thieves had a short amount of time to capture it.
In one scene a big banner was depicted outside a musuem with a photo of the egg saying "RARE FABREGE JEWELED EGG ON DISPLAY HERE" or something corny like that!
....only in the movies, I guess ;D

Thanks for the info, Abby.

Do they say anything ABOUT the Coronation Egg?  Like, "This is the egg created by Peter Carl Faberge in honor of the coronation of Russia's Last Tsar"?   ::)

what is the difference between diamonds and brilliants? - as described for the Coronation Egg?
The dictionary lists brilliants as any number of different gems

so many tiaras are described as having diamonds and/or brilliants - yet the color of the gems is all the same so I am confused

thanks

In this instance, brilliants refers to small bright cut diamonds.

I don't remember them saying anything  about the history of the egg, AGRBear. I am sure I would have remembered if they did, because I had to nudge my friend next to me and tell him that the egg was made for Tsar Nicholas II. (And he is a Political Science major and didn't know this! :D)

Did anyone notice that when they go for the first time to see the Egg in the museum, just behind it stays a portrait of Alix? It's in the middle of two other smaller portraits...

Did anyone notice that in the movie Hell Boy that the villain was supposed to be a reincarnation of Rasputin?
I was like, What?
They even gave a brief hisotry of how he died, or as they made it seem that he didn't die. But they really strechted it by saying they cut off his "lower parts" off. ???
It's the only thing that made the movie interesting for me! ::)
Here's a pic:

Is it really that bad versus the comic books it is based on?

(If you don't know the comics, you shouldn't judge the movie)

Well upon chatting with some fans of the comics at IMDB, there is a lot of small details that have been changed from the comics. The only character that is true to the comics is Hellboy, and the only character made better by the movie was Kroena??? can't recall the actual name. Anyway, the comics' character of Rasputin is the same as it is in the movie, except in the movie he has a "fashion sense" according to one fan.

Is Hellboy part of the Marvel franchise?
