I read on this site somewhere that Alexei watched Mickey mouse  cartoons. Does anyone know if this was true?

From what I remember, Mickey Mouse did not come about until 1918 with Steamboat Willy.  I doubt that he saw any of them.

Yeah, I thought that they didn't come out until later.

Not possible -- Mickey Mouse debuted in November 1928.

Probably another stupid site spewing out lies to innocent bypassers.  >:( It's impossible for him to have seen them anyway, if you're suggesting that he did so on a regular basis, because there were no televisions yet.

Actually, Mickey spent the vast majority of his career on the big screen. ;) (Most all the short cartoons you see him in on TV today were made between 1928 and 1960, and shown in theaters before the feature film.) But cartoons in general were not around during most of Alexei's life. The first animated character, Gertie the Dinosaur, premiered in 1917, I believe.
