The "Good heavens, look at that nose!" painting was by Charles-Lucien-Louis Muller and painted in 1856. There's a matching, unfinished one of Prince Albert from the same year by him too - I think it's on the royal collection website if that helps.

I could be wrong, but I believe the original portrait was painted by Essex.

The original is a watercolour by Sir William Ross, catalogued on the truly appalling Royal Collections website (of which they should be heartily ashamed) as "Queen Victoria......seated half-length, readina [sic] paper. Signed and dated."  There is no reproduction on the web page (http://www.royalcollection.org.uk/collection/914311/queen-victoria) but there is a reference to the original in the long entry on the miniature copy William Essex made for the Queen which rather bafflingly, does have a reproduction (http://www.royalcollection.org.uk/collection/421994/queen-victoria-1819-1901).
