Yes, that's what I mean, that it is hard to get an impression of her from what I've read anyway. I think she does seem an enigma, and always, no matter what I do, I can't get that out of mind, but that it is not the truth of the matter. She was quite like Alexandra, also subjected to misinterpretations, and I think it's great if we think of Tatiana in a more human way. She would have become well known, but maybe not as much as Marie or Olga, and somehow I think her character would always have remained to some, a mystery.  ;)

i agree with IA

i know she was fun and springy!
but i do agree that she was most like Alexandra in alot of ways.

but i also think she was a fun lvoing spirtied girl!

but do you not agree... that she got a bit depressed at the end of her life?
but always keeped on a smile!?

Georgiy, where might one get a copy of Sisters Of Mercy, and does it have diary excerpts from Anastasia's diary as well?

I feel that Tatiana's willingness to help and that charm that got all the men fantasizing defined her as a very important member of OTMA. In my opinion, each of the girls were special in their own characteristic ways (: Some may be more well-known, sure - case in point being Anastasia of course thanks to popular culture - but I feel that each have certain qualities that make them individually fascinating (:

Holly - none of Anastasia's diaries exist anymore - at least, none are in the GARF archives. You can get the book from kniga.com, but it is in Russian.

Aww.  :( That's terrible. Thanks for telling me where to find the book! I hope to get it soon. Thankfully, I do know a bit of Russian though I'm still learning.

I'm afraid to admit I never really thought much of Tatiana. Now however I've grown to like her much more- she is a true beauty, very responsible and quite a young lady. I'm sure that helping her mother and older sister care for wounded was not an easy job, but her "willingness to help", as Governess stated, must've made those soldiers feel very comforted and knew that that they were in the minds of the people.
I love the anecdote that Holly listed, a very funny image in the mind!

She is important to me. For so many reasons as his the rest of the family. Even if i do related most to Olga but they are all very important to me
