Anastasia video game
« on: December 02, 2004, 05:48:19 AM »
I didn't know where else to put this.

Recently a video game called "Shadow Hearts: Covenant" was released for the Play Station 2, it is set during World War 1 and Anastasia is a playable character!

Thought everyone would like to know.

P.S. I tried to find a screenshot of her but alas, I could not.

From what I have read, she uses water magic and takes pictures.
Apparently Rasputin makes an appearance as well.

Annie: Unfortunatley I have yet to actually play the game, but from what I have read the Yussoupovs unfortunatley don't appear.

helen_azar: Water magic involves everything to do with mysticism and H2O.

Although I'm not certain why the developers made the decision to give Anastasia control of water, I like the fact that they made her use a camera considering how many pictures she and her family took.

Oh I figured as much, but forgive my ignorance, I still don't understand what that means. But it's ok, not that important  :D.

. . . the little princess Anastasia, photographs enemies and sticks them in her album during battle, she can then call them up to attack other enemies.

From a discussion about the game.

This is information, translated from Japanese, about her character:

"The fourth daughter of the Tsar of Imperial Russia. She is beautiful, but also a demon. She is very sensitive, and became impoverished in the war, and is disappointed about the situation in her homeland because of the corrupt politics. "

http://www.shadowhearts.net/chara/index.html Go to this website, click on Shadow Hearts II (the link on the right at the top of the page, and scroll down, you'll find Anastasia.  ::)

Looks nothing like her, of course.  ::)

The thing I find amusing about all this is what the REAL Anastasia would think if she saw it!  :D

Interesting. I don't know if I'd play it though, for one I can't read Japanese (or is it English when you buy it?) and second, Anastasia as a video game character...and Rasputin? hmm...it's very wierd. :)

Wouldn't it have been more exciting to have her esscaping from the Bolsheviks or something like that? I hope this doesn't give kids the wrong story again, but it might get them interested enough to look up the true story.
