There was an Anastasia video game copyright 2000, no longer in production. It was probably inspired by the Don Bluth's successful 1997 animated feature for Fox.

Bluth's "Anastasia" was inspired by either the 1956 movie adaptation or the French play by Marcelle Maurette, English adaptation by Guy Bolton.

I *think* Maurette may have been influenced by Pirandello's "As You Desire Me" ("Come tu mi vuoi"). It is, after all, very hard to imagine any playwright being unaware of Pirandello.

I don't know if Pirandello based his play on AA, as there were apparently many cases of amnesia in the post-WWI era, but there are many similarities to AA's case. The theme is the nature and the fragility of personal identity, and IMHO offers greater insights into what might have happened to AA than Maurette's play or any of its adaptations. The 1932 film adaptation of "As You Desire Me" is, unfortunately, not a very good film, although it does have a few striking scenes with Greta Garbo and Erich von Stroheim. If anyone's interested, I'd recommend reading the play instead of renting the movie.

There's at least one copy of the old "Anastasia" game on eBay.

[edited because I got the "Anastasia" video game mixed up with "Shadow Hearts: Covenant"]

My apologies for not responding to this thread earlier.
I found this game fascinating in the respect that it is another cultures view of Anastasia, although I didn't like the way Alexandra was portrayed, and it was kind of strange that Anastasia develops a crush on a samurai.

The rating is "T for Teen"

Again I apologize for not taking part in a thread that I started.

Those sites have pictures of people dressed up as the version of Anastasia seen in the game.

I find them very odd.

Meh.. It's not that weird to me.
Maybe it's because I am a huge videogamer so Cosplay is an accepted part of life for me.

Anastasia in the video game looks realy different from the real Anastasia  I would not want to buy it. She does not wear two braids on her head and her clothes they are terrible looking this is very mean and disrespectful to do that. Anastasia would not have been too happy herself.

It's not weird to me either.

I played the first Shadow Hearts but I don't remember getting very far because I think it scared me too much! Lol  I kind of want to pick up this one, to see what it's like.

But guys, it is a video game.  From Japan, no less.  They make characters with big eyes and unusual hair with unique clothes designs.  The game is not about Anastasia though, but I doubt they care about being historically correct.  It is a fantasy game, with magic and monsters.

Here is also a description of her for the game:
Princess Anastasia Romanov: Outgoing and inquisitive, Anastasia is suspicious of her father's adviser, Grigori Rasputin. When he frames Yuri and party for controlling Anastasia, and almost forcing her to murder her little brother, Alexei, she joins Yuri to stop Rasputin. She uses a special camera to take Snapshots of creatures, capturing their abilities, some of which she can then pull from her Album to use in battle herself. She does physical attacks with mechanical Fabrage eggs.

Well, every gamer has their opinion.  I just can't picture a video-game version of Anna. Now that is a bit un-Orthodox.  :-\

Honestly: the best part about her being in that game is that she throws Faberge eggs at her enemies.  Hehe.

And the cyrillic stuff: After getting letter after letter wrong, Yuri says, "Let me guess, that's a Y." "No, actually, that IS a B."

Come down, it just a game.

I found this game to be odd, I never very much enjoy Japanese's tastes for cartoons.

I bid that even the Grand Duchess herself would say: "What a video game?!?"  :P ::)

SO basically everyone has different ideas and want not. To me to keep her memory alive is by art and prayer (she my patron Saint, after all! ;)).
