Isabel Alexandra, what lovely names! Is Alexandra a common name in Spain?

No. It isn´t. My father´s used to said, that he had read the novel "Anna Karenina" one thousend times (he exagered, of course), also "War and Peace", he took "Alexandra" from here. I always showed an special interest in Russia.

No problem! I think this thread is very interesting too! BTW, for anyone who doesn't know, my real name is Liam, the Irish of William.

My "real" name is latin for "of noble birth".  I just got the name though, not the status or the money.

By the way, I didn't know that Liam was the Irish for William, I love it and had I known would have used it for my son's middle name instead of William.

My son is Nicholas William (two Emperors for the price of one) Actually is is named for his two grandfathers it was just a coincidence that it turned out as it did.

I got my screen name from A Clockwork Orange. I LOVE that movie. My real name is Lisa. Not very original. I was named after my aunt and my mom's cousin. So my mom and my dad both have a "Lisa" on their sides of the family. I've had a name picked out for my first little girl since I was 14. Olga Anastasia.  ;) I haven't got a name picked out for a boy, but I'm only 16, so I'm in no hurry!

I got my real name because my dad liked it. If were not for my dad--I would have been called Meghan. I have a name picked out for a girl--if I have one--Marie-Louise. For a boy--Ryan, after my dead brother and Ryan Fitzgerald.

My name is plain old Nicole.  My screen name is Nicole reversed.  I am not too bothered about my real name on the internet as I feel pretty secure about identity and my computer being safe as long as I follow the network rules my husband has set forth to follow. (More like laws really, that's what I get for marrying a systems administrator).

I like screen names they free a person from living up to the name they have.   Or at least allows a fantasy of having a different name.

Heehee, I know Lanie's real name but I know she doesn't like it so I won't say in case she doesn't want me to.  ;)

Alixz, glad you like my name!  ;D

Isabel, your story is very sweet (and a little bit sad about your father).

I registered with a "username" that wasn't my name, but I realized that as silly as this is, that I want to be known for me on this board and not a username. I think usernames can be fun!  ;D
