Here it is Sarushka!
Anastasia Tobolsk
To my opinion she doesn't really look like the Anastasia we know from the pictures.. Maybe a little when she was around 12 years old. But I absolutely like the picture! It must be one of her last pictures..
Thanks for posting that, Tessel. What book does it come from?

I hate to be a spoil-sport, but it's really hard for me to believe this is Anastasia. I know it's blurry, but this looks much more like a 10-12 year-old boy than a teenaged girl to me. She would have been 16 years old at the time, and although she was the shortest of the Grand Duchesses, I would expect her to be much taller in relation to that railing. (I'm just 5'3", and most railings are well below waist-level on me.) I've looked at my photos of the governor's mansion, and I can't see a railing like the one in the photo -- there's no railing at all on the front porch, and only a very low one on the upper balcony. It also seems strange that she'd pose outdoors in her costume. I'm puzzled, though, because Anastasia's signature is visible in the lower right corner of the photo. Can you translate the caption below the photo for us, Tessel?

It's from the book 'Ik, Anastasia, vertel.' in english:  'I, Anastasia, tell you.'

And your absolutely not a spoil-sport! I totally understand you..I tought at first sight they made a mistake in the book.
But like you said, her signature is there. And it really, really looks like Anastasia's!
Look here:
Signatures
And remember she is wearing boy clothes, and she 'vanished' her hair.

But I'm a little puzzled too. I'd checked everything, and I think the book is right and it ís Anastasia, but I still don't know it for sure.

I'm not good in translations, but it says Anastasia was dressed like a boy for a play in Tobolsk. And if they had escaped, she probably would dressed like this again. The photo is given by someone who didn't want to tell his/her name.

If you want to know more, ask me ;). Altough I'm a little confused with this, haha.

I think the 1906 one looks like a painting or sketch or whatever but I don't think it's a photo.

Actually, the second woman from the left isn't any of them, I believe, I think it's Demidova.

I found it in this book:Nicholas II, The imperial family, 1998 (English version). ISBN:5-88810-013-7. The photo is from Maria's album.

The girl at the left is supposed to be Maria but it's hard to recognise her. On the other hand, it's easy to recognise Olga.
