I would also love to see one to but they are extremely difficult to find. I have seen a couple of Louise as a child and one of Stéphanie as a baby in a pram surrounded by her siblings but none of Clémentine. Guess they must be hiding in the Belgian archives (or the Napoleon family ones) ...

I think you've posted these pictures some months ago, Agneschen. They were really nice.

I thought that there might be a photograph of little Clémentine in the book by Dominique Paoli ... Such a pity.  :-\
Ich aber breite trauernd aus
die weiten weissen Schwingen,
Und kehr' ins Feenreich nach Haus -

I know there's a bio on her (in French I believe) and also some in joint bios (also in French).

Stephanie wrote her memoirs 'I Was to Be Empress' but I don't know Louise's.

Theo Aronson's bio The Coburgs of Belgium doesn't talk about Clementine too much but has a good deal on Stephanie and Louise.

I would like to know more about Elmer Lonyay. He sounds a good person who obviously loved Stephanie very much.Marriage to her was no bed of roses..no doubt he knew prior to their union that their could be no children...she had the baggage of being Rudolfs widow too in many other ways...and  marriage to here also meant keeping up a great style worthy of the royal background(even if she was for a time denied the HRH) out of his own pocket..because Stephanie was not wealthy in her own right for many years...All in all he sounds a great gentleman.

Yes...Stephanie was lucky to have found him. No wonder she gave up being an Archduchess to be reduced to a Countess. Her father never forgave her, but I am sure she never regretted it.  ;)

I think it said a great deal about her father AND more about her father -IN -Law that they did not confirm her status/rank & it said much about karl who immediately he became King made Lonyay a prince & confirmed Stephanies own original status.

I read Princess Louise died in Wiesbaden. Where she was buried? Is the grave still exists?

Yes, it would be interesting, because I live in the near of Frankfurt and I´ve never been to Wiesbaden, could be a reason to go there once and visit the grave, if it still exists. Anybody an idea, where it is?
