I was thinking it had to be from the same time as the video judging by their ages, especially Olga. Would it also be around the same time of the photos the girls took on the Polar Star? Or was that a year later?

1905/06?   The girls looking to be between eight or nine(Tatiana) , and ten or eleven (Olga). The outfits could have been worn over several years so they're an imperfect clue.

I hate dating those earlier photos. They can be so difficult. It has to be 05/06 come to think of it. Alexei was very young there and still with his long hair meaning it was before his third birthday.

My copy of that photo, as well as some other photos where the girls wear outfits of this style, was dated 1908 when I saved it, but I'm not sure about that. There are 1908 photos where they seem to look noticeably more mature, and this is closer in appearance to that film footage. My own guess for the footage has been 1906 since I think Alexei looks a little younger than in some of his long-haired photos and there's a 1905 Polar Star photo where the girls are in similar outfits while he's still being carried by a sailor. But then there's that ship photo of the whole family that I've seen dated 1907... I too find these early holidays tough to date.

Nice, wakas!  I saw this photo yesterday, but for some reason, I didn't even notice Tatiana there!

Very nice! What room is this (where exactly)? And when are we thinking it was taken...perhaps autumn or winter 1916/17?

Wonderful addition to the great photos from that day!

IIRC when the first four rares were shared it was said they were taken in autumn 1916 at the Alexander Palace.

I just love photos of them from their 1914 Standart trip. I bet those clothes were nice and warm.
