Don't forget the diamond chain, where the sappire use to hang. Yes I am afraid the rest of the lot was gone. divided between Elisabetha, Mignon and Ileana. I don't know if Prince Nicholas recieve a share in the jewels or not, or if he gave some to his morganetic wife.

The chain on which the great sapphire hung had originally belonged to the american Nancy Leeds later Princess Anastasia, first wife of Prince Christopher of Greece. She removed the two large diamonds she wore as a pendant when she part exchanged the chain with Cartier. They hung the 438carat sapphire and sold it to Marie. After her death it passed to her daughter-in-law Queen Helen who gave it to Queen Anne in 1948 as a wedding gift.Anne wore it on her wedding day with another pendant. Shortly before his tragically early death in 1988,my friend Hans Nadelhoffer, author of the definitive history of Cartier went to a dinner party at the royal couples home. Queen Anne mentioned the sale of the sapphire & how it later was given by a greek magnate to Queen Fredrika. She said she had no idea where the chain was. Later she went to her jewel case to ask Hans opinion on a "trinket"( he was also head of  Christie's Europe)there in the bottom of the box lay in peices the chain !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still wonder if Prince Nicholas had a share in his mother's jewels.

Nooo...I think King Ferdinand left those to his son, Nicholas. Why would Carol leave anything to his siblings? Elisabetha, Mignon and Ileana recieve something from their father. Why not Nicholas ?  ???

You mean YOUR sapphire!! ;D ;D  it was sold by Christie's Geneva in November 2003, I think it was bought by an anonymous buyer.

does anyone knows something about these tiaras? The picture are from after the war so they are new, not inherited.Plus you can see the LARGE sapphire in two of them. In the 3rd she is with her nephew Mihai.

The lady in the 3rd pic is not Queen Marie of Romania. It's Queen Sophie of Greece with her grandson Michael. :)

You are right.

Missy was wearing the huge sapphire in the first two postcards.
