The Tiara belonged to the Countess of Essex who loaned it to Clementine Churchill. Later it was sold to Cartier (who had originally made it ) for their archives collection.
They in turn lent it to Princess Margarita.

I wonder why Margarita had to borrow a tiara, she could use the Greek Tiara that belonged to the family.

Could be any number of reasons--probably known only to her. Maybe she thinks it's ugly, or bad luck, or it's too heavy or it didn't suit her dress. Who knows? Brides have a variety of reasons why they do things.  :)

Yes. Maybe it was "something borrowed" ? She now wore that Greek Tiara all the time.  ;)

Princess Brigitta of Yugoslavia wearing Queen Marie's golden tiara:

And tiara looks like not on its place )). Queen Marie looked more natural in it.

Lol I thought the same-looks rather unlucky...but what is more important is that the tiara found it's use by a family member, apart from being locked in a museum. It is the only tiara left in the family(to use-not owning),except from maybe tiara of Princess Katharina, former Lady de Silva...

Eric, they can't follow the fashion as they don't have anything else left in their jewels tank...this is the only tiara that was at their disposal!

Yes. But I think they can always order a new tiara (as the older ones have been sold). Princess Elisabeth of Yugoslavia once borrowed the Chaumet tiara (the one Queen Marie wore with emeralds (now replaced with green glass) and displayed at the Chaumet Museum in the Place Vendome shop in Paris) for a function.

Princess Birgitta looks very uncomfortable in that tiara, and it looks completely wrong and out of place. I dont think it works for her.

Agree with you.Like she picked it up from the museum without previously knowing that she would wear it and put of her head just for a photo shoot...

Maybe she should buy her own tiara.
