Did the protestant and Catholic lines of the  Wurttemberg royal family get along with each other?
Did the Catholic line live in Stuttgart or Vienna?

The Catholic branch did have a sizable city palais in Vienna, which eventually wa sold.

The Catholic branch came out of the wedding of Duke Alexander of Württemberg (himself the son of Duke Alexander and his wife the former Princess Antoinette of Saxe-Saalfeld-Coburg , a sister of King Leopold I of the Belgians) and Princess Marie d'Orléans (daughter of King Louis-Philippe of the French and his wife the former Princess Marie-Amelie of Bourbon-Two Sicilies).

Duke Philipp, Alexander and Marie's one surviving child, married a Habsburg, as did his son and grandson.  Three generations of Wuurttembergers married into the imperial house.

The Vienna palace, I believe, is now the Imperial hotel which is a sumptuous hotel by every measure.

Does anyone have more information about these Duchesses of Württemberg?

MARIA THERESIA (1845-1927)

her daughters:
MARIE AMÉLIE (1865-1883) - twin-sister of Duke Albrecht (it's funny, but they were born on different days ...)
ISABELLE (1871-1904) married 1894 Prince Johann Georg of Saxony (1869-1938.)

her granddaughters:
MARIE AMÉLIE (1897-1923)
MARIE THERESE (1898-1928.)
MARGARETHE (1902-1945)

All of them - except Maria Theresia - died quite young. I know that Margarethe was shot by mistake during WWII. But what was the cause of her aunts' and sisters' death?

Portraits, photographs and anything else ist very welcome.

Maria Theresia (1898-1928) became a nun and was know as Sister Maria Benedicta..here she is..

Thanks to all for such interesting pictures. I have seen the wedding photo of Maria Theresia and her husband before, and I have always wondered why she has what appears to be a blanket wrapped around her hips. Does anyone have any insights into that question?

Hello.

I am interested in Duke Ulrich of Württemberg (* 13. 6. 1877, + 13. 6. 1943), the youngest son of Duke Philipp of Württmebrg and his Austrian wife Archduchess Maria Theresia. I only know something his military career,but nothing about him personally... And of course pictures are more than welcome! ;)
