I bought this book at a stock-sell for 4 euro.
It's by Steinberg and Khrustalev. Is it any good?

I think it's very good! The bulk of the book is a collection of documents regarding the abdication, captivity, and execution of the Imperial Family. It's full of letters, diary entires, telegrams, and many other official documents. I believe some of the captors' & executioners' statements are included as well. It's a great opportunity to read some primary sources & come to your own conclusions.

I love this book, and learned much from it. It is a collection of documents that enable the reader to decide for themselves, but I think the commentary is really good too, and shows you a better view of the Romanovs. This is one of my favorite Romanov books, and I would reccomend it to anyone.

I agree, this book is well researched. My only complaint is that certain photos have been mis-identified.

That's true -- but I know some corrections were made in later editions.
