Violetta, where do you get all your information?  I've been researching Grand Duchess Alexandra for quite some time, but info is hard to come by; do you have any sources you'd be willing to share?  Thanks.

I visited kadriog palace in april 2009. i posted some pictures of the palace in the appropiate thread. if you go to OTHER PALACES, there is a special thread devoted to kadriog palace in tallinn.i also posted  some pictues of the palace.you will find other pictures there, too. it`s not a long thread. if you want, i`ll try to post more pictures, i`ll check what i have. as for info on alexandra nicolaevna, there isn`t a lot of info on her. memories of her sister olga might help you.if you read russian, i can give you the source.

I have yet to come across one; maybe you'll read my book about Alexandra when it's published  ;)  By the way, thank you, violetta!

I don't know any book, but in the book Alexandra, Empress of Russia by August Theodor von Grimm, there is a whole chapter about Alexandra Nikolaievna. It tells about her personality, her disposition, her relationship with her family and her husband and her death.

Hi there,
I'm not what you could call fluent, but I know enough Russian to get by.  Why do you ask?

Alexandra Feodorovna, Empress of Russia was originally written in German, but was translated to English by a Lady Wallace.  You can read it at http://books.google.com.  Search for "August Theodor von Grimm."

Alexandra's portrait. This is a copy from the one made by Christina Robertson. Now in Pavlovsk.

Alexandra's husband, Prince Frederick William of Hesse-Cassel ("Fritz"), 1843

A marble bust of Adini

Alexandra's room in The Cottage. Here in the summer of 1843, she spent her happiest days, because of her meeting and subsequent betrothal to "Fritz". You can see his portrait on the table.

Her room in Tsarkoe Selo, and again you can see portrait of Fritz on an easel. The inscription says: "My room in Tsarskoe Selo. 16 October".

The marble bench in Peterhof, constructed as a memorial to ALexandra. Unknown artist, 1845
