Beautiful pictures, but I agree with Therry. This is Louise of Sweden. Archives do make mistakes sometimes.

Wera as a child

In my opinion this is Princess Louise of Sweden  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louise_of_Sweden

I edit to add this link:

Wera Konstantinowna visited France in 1882 and didn't like it. It was too french...
She visited the sites of the 1870/1871 war where her friends the Taubes (brothers, counts von Taube) were killed in action.

Wera was homesick and had an explanation fot this: She was in enemy land. (The war was 11 years over...)
She visited the palace of Verailles and in the Hall of Mirrors she felt her german heart beat. (There was the Proclamation of the German Empire in 1871)

Wera wrote a patriotic poem for the mentioned war "Die Württemberger vor Paris - Ein vaterländisches Gedicht".

If you are interested in Wera's family, there is a book by the tutor of Princess Olga of Schaumburg-Lippe sons Eugen and Albrecht:

The title of the book is: A prussian comes to Württemberg
The cover shows tutor Rudolf Thietz with Prince Albrecht

Mr. Thietz was from 1910-1913 in office and knew also Duchess Wera, the Twin sister Elsa, her husband and their 4 children.

Prince Albrecht was in the Kaiserliche Marine and after Versailles unemployed. He get involved in the Kapp-Putsch and was because of that arrested by the police.
Mr. Thietz was since he left Württemberg, back in prussian service and lived in Kiel, he got Prince Albrecht out of prison.

And this is indeed ONLY one bio on Wera. Even in Russian there's no anything on her.

I think that if Wera had lived to see the First World War, there is no question on which side she would have been.
And that side was not Russia...
