The Quest for Anistasia by John Klier
« on: November 15, 2005, 04:41:49 AM »
Hi everyone

Has anyone read this? I've seen a  copy availiable quite cheap and it looks quite interesting.

It would help if someone could tell me it's subject matter (Anna Anderson, execution of the IF etc.)

Sorry if there's already a topic on this but I couldn't see one!

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Rachael

This book is wonderful - well written and insiteful!
It collects the various threads of the AA/AN theory together very nicely (as well as a number of  other "survivor" claimants) and examines the forensic/ DNA evidence.
It's quite easy to read and anyone interested in the Romanovs and Russian history will enjoy it.  I think that you'll find it very instructive.

Just realize though: the authors do not in any way believe that Anna Anderson was Anastasia and are convinced that she was Francizska Schankowska.  :)

Thankyou for your replies it does sound like a interesting book and if I can finsih my other Romanov books (there are many!) I will purchase it!

Thankyou for the note about AA Helen, it's very easy to think a book is aboit claimants, that does not bother me anyway I like reading books from different points of view.

I have read this, and I think that it is a good book, it nicely examines all the evidence, and there is a great deal you can learn from reading this. I read it, and I was impressed with all the information, etc.I coudn't grasp the core of it enough to review it, but I appreciate the essentials of things in this book enough. I think anyone ought to read it who wants good info, or  a different viewpoint. :)
