Tragedy of the Romanov Dynasty, by Kerensky
« on: November 17, 2005, 12:18:26 PM »
My apologies if this has been posted already (I couldn'r find it). I just came across a book (published in Russian) by Alexander Kerensky (yes, the head of the Provisional Government) about the last Romanovs, called "The tragedy of the Romanov dynasty" (Tragediya dinastiyi Romanovikh). Has anyone heard of it or read it?

This is what the cover looks like:

I think I am going to order it as it is only $7. If nothing else, it would be interesting to read it from Kerensky's perspective. It says that the story is told through his letters and diaries...

I purchased this book as soon as it was released this year. It's garbage as can be expected from this individual.

There were actually two books penned by him that came out with matching covers.

Helen save your $7.00!

Thanks Belochka.

With this book, just like with Prss Yurievkaya's, I am not expecting any great scholarship or even great insight, or even the the real "truth" - I just want to see what this particular contemporary had to say about the whole scenario - biased or not, to get his perspective - so to speak... So for that purpose, it's well worth the $7 to me ;).

It sounds like it may be the same book, as often the translated titles may differ. But $350 - it  would have to be some book!!!  :o
