Princess Royal, Princess Anne

Seeing the ones in the "Royal Fashions" thread, I think there have to be good pictures of her- especially when she was younger. Post them if you have them!

I'd be proud to have the first honor!  :D It probably comes as no surprise that the ones I have chosen are over 30 years old... I tried but I couldn't find a recent flattering portrait of her. I disliked her official 50th birthday portraits (which appeared in Majesty) because I felt she looked too pale (and the garish dark red lipstick!  :-/) and the overall look was stiff and forced.

Here's one to make to make Martyn spit out his tea! Anne on the cover of VOGUE, 1971. (Suppose we won't see that one happening again in any of our life times!  ;)

While not the best angle, I like this one. She's smiling so naturally and appears so young and fresh.

The beginning of the hairstyle, but she looks amazing!  :) (Maybe someone else can comment on her jewels, as that's not my area!)

No doubt Anne could do it again and better if she would just invest in a hair stylist.

I just love this dress on Anne!  It looks like and reminds me of  dress designed for Barbara "MoneyBags" Hutton in the 1950's by Lavin for a party in Tangier.

Anne, on the cover of Vogue!

Haven't had such a good laugh in years!  :D

Still it is easy to see that her taste for styling her hair like candy floss developed at an early age!  ;)

The diamond necklace is nice, but we haven't seen that for many a year - may be it was only on loan!

These days there is more chance of seeing her on the cover of 'Horse and Hound' (no pun intended!  ;) ), than on the cover of Vogue.......

Anne's eyebrows have done a vanishing act!  In the 70s they were wider but under control (think Liz Taylor here).  Now they are very thin, but still reasonably shaped.  The heavier brows looked better.  As for the 50th Birthday photos - yeuch!  And don't get me started on that awful lipstick ...

Some more of Anne...

I really like this one:

Not a fan of the dress, but she looks so much more relaxed and elegant here than in the 50th b-day pics

Another more recent one. The dress is past it's sell by date, but the photographer has captured her well.

Now, come on, Martyn!

You have to give a tiny bit of credit to the old girl here...Anne does look pretty good on this Vogue cover from '71 and quite moderne as well.

I admit though, the odds of her again appearing on the cover of this revered publication are...well...zilch!  :D  :-[

Addendum:  You have to give her this as well - she looks pretty youthful and well preserved for a woman in her fifties - maybe she's inherited a gene or two from Great Great Grandmother Alix?
