That's one of the most stunning outfits I've ever seen on Princess Anne.   Cleavage?   Where?  I don't see any cleavage.  Just a little cut-out above where the cleavage ought to be.  It's a very becoming evening gown.   Beautiful color.

I really do wish that whoever advises the Royal women, namely Her Majesty and Princess Anne, had suggested a while back that they both use a little eybrow pencil - just a little.   Just as a touch of lipstick can enhance a woman's face, the hint of an eyebrow gives the face a pleasing expression if done well and both of them would appear much more attractive if their eyebrows weren't so non-existent.   It's probably too late for the Queen to start, but Princess Anne could really use a little.

Absolutely NOTHING wrong with colour enhanced hair providing that, once a woman has passed the age of colouring for fun, it's done subtley. It always looks to me as if HRH does it herself and whilst it's always difficult to tell from photos, it seems to fall in a colour range between far too dark and far too dark with purple/red undertones revealing varying amounts of regrowth. The only female who comes to mind immediately as being able to get away with such dark looks is Joan Collins. Whilst it's not a look I care for, she does it to perfection

It's hard to tell, but I don't think it's a cutout.  I think there are two pieces here- a dress with shoulder straps (and hardly a low cleavage!) and a separate little shoulder wrap that buttons at the neck.  At any rate, it's lovely.

I  too think it's a lovely outfit. I don't think it shows too much cleavage but the cut of the shawl/cloak (sorry not good with woman's clothing) kind of acts as a reversed arrow that draws attention to it.

I also think it's a stylish outfit but the bolero (?) is fighting a bit with the choker and needed to have been adjusted a bit.

Lets face it, Princess Anne has never been an ardent follower of fashion. Her jewellery here looks wrong, and I am sure, given her talent for recycling outfits, this dress is going to resurface in many guises in the next 20 years. As did the yellow and blue creation she wore to Charles and Diana's wedding. I am sure that outfit is still squirrelled away somewhere awaiting its next reincarnation. She is very frugal and unpretentious, and I think thats wonderful. I dont like this dress in its present form. The cut out bit looks weird, and she's not the sort of woman to go round flashing bits of her body through holes in her clothing. Whoever advised her on this outfit was, IMHO wrong. The choker was also a bad mistake. Does not work with this dress. No jerwellery would have looked better. The glitter beads on the dress are
enough already.

I agree, Jehan.  It's either a two piece ensemble or made to look like it.  I also agree with Brassov and CountessKate that the choker is wrong for the neckline but for those who think Anne has "advice" from stylists or even regular staff about jewellery, makeup and hair colouring, I think you are wrong!  Anne would have someone to look after her clothes and catalogue when and where they have been previously worn, but I doubt she'd have any other assistance in her overall look.  It's just not that important to her.
