I haven't watched the movie and won't, because I've decided it's a superficial movie that stays within people's very limited royal comfort zone. ("King George who? Oh, THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND's father". And oh how sweet that the Queen Mum helped him overcome his handicap.") How much more interesting wouldn't a movie about Wilhelm II overcoming his handicap be, a handicap that probably had a much larger influence on history and did not end so cutesy with everybody winning the war due to the monarch's inspirational speeches and living happily ever, but rather in unleashing and losing a war!

It's a wonderful picture, I think it was actually taken when King George VI's body arrived at Westminster Abbey for the lying in state. I think Queen Mary did not attend the funeral but watched from a window at Marlborough House.

Queen Elisabeth II was also in the photo but her head turned in this one. The title was "Three Queens Mourn".

Smallish point. George VI's lying in state was actually at Westminster Hall, not Westminster Abbey. I think the famous photograph was actually taken at Liverpool Street Station (the King died at Sandringham and his body was brought to London by train).

A few smallish points! :) Queen Mary was not present at Kings Cross (where the funeral train arrived) she met them at Westminster Hall (very close to the Abbey) where as Queen Elizabeth & The Queen & Princess Margaret had travellled with the coffin from Sandringham.  Westminster is where the photo was taken. This wonderful old footage clearly shows it:

Even William Shawcross wrote the picture was taken at Kings Cross, but it would appear not.

Regarding "The King's Speech" how do people feel about the portrayal of Churchill as a "ally" of the York's in the movie, when in reality he supported keeping Edward VIII on the throne?  There's also criticism that George VI was not nearly as anti-German as he was portrayed by Colin Firth and that he was a big supporter of the appeasement policies advocated by his brother, Edward VIII.

Here's an article about it in Slate by Christopher Hitchens:

I saw this movie several weeks ago and really liked it.  My only criticism at the time was that the actors who portrayed the children (Elizabeth and Margaret) were too young.

But Hitchens makes some good points that there's definitely a bit of whitewashing going on here...

That's probably true, but Churchill wasn't the point of the movie.
