The Imperial City of Petropolis in the State of Rio de Janeiro is the Brazilian equivalent to Tsarsko Selo, see the link to the Museu Imperial below:

There are many palaces in Petropolis, some belonging to the Orléans-Braganças and some belonging to various barons and other nobles. Presently, one branch of the Orléans-Braganças own the most famous historical palace remaining in private ownership, the Palais de Grão-Pará.

hello,

Does somebody has information on the imperial palaces of Brazil. I heard that the imperial family had a city palace in Rio de Janeiro, two palaces outside the city center in Sao Cristavao and Santa Cruz, and in Petropolis? Is this correct or were there more palaces or lodges? Does some one has pictures or plans or has other information?

Thanks,

ipflo

In Rio there's the Imperial Palace (Paço Imperial):

Another Imperial Palace (Palácio Imperial) in Petrópolis:

The Cristal Palace, in Petrópolis (Palácio de Cristal), belonged to the Princess Isabel de Braganza and her husband, Count D'Eu:

The Grão-Pará's Palace (Palácio do Grão-Pará), home of a few members of the imperial family, in Petrópolis too:

Guanabara's Palace (Palácio de Guanabara), home of the Princess Isabel and her husband Count D'Eu:

Quinta da Boa Vista Palace, in Rio de Janeiro, home of D. João:

If I find more, I'll post.

Hi people! This is the website of the virtual tour by the Imperial Palace of Petropolis.
You can see the palace and the gardens and also hear the story of the empire and of the museum.

Do you have any picture of the mansion at Vassouras ?

I guess it's not exactly a palace but a manor house in a roça (plantation)
