The two little Princes have been named Prince Nicholas and Prince Aymeric

The boys are number 14 and 15 in line to the Throne,
after uncle Filip and his children,
aunt Astrid and her children,
their father and their sister Louise.

Meanwhile (18.37PM local time here)the names have been removed from the website again,Prince Laurent has announced a press-conference for tomorrow.

Please excuse firstly my ignorance and secondly if this has been discussed previously, but what is the origin or significance of using "Marie" in a male child's name? Thanks in advance!

My late congratulations to the Royal Couple!

The latin name Marius comes from the etruscan root maru, which means male.

Perhaps in Catholic countries (such as France and Belgium) there could be a link to Marie/Mary.

Is Prince Laurent the heir or is he a younger son?

Prince Laurent was admitted to the university hospital of St.Pieters Woluwe near Brussels after he was flown in late sunday from Sardinia,Italy where the
family was on holiday, with fever and heavy coughing. At first thoughts moved towards the H1N1 flu,but the Prince is now diagnosed with a severe pneumonia.

And Laurent pulled a no no again.Against the strict wish of his father, the King, and the Belgian government,
he made an extensive trip to Congo and visited Kabila there.More,he flew around in Kabila's jets and Kabila
picked up the tag for the luxurious hotel for Laurent and his entourage.Relationships
between Belgium and Congo are strained,to put it mildly, but Laurent again thought himself above anybody,
even his father. Then he got home and was told a few things which resulted in Laurents customary whining:
" Support me,don't hit me"....Every generation has one,but the Belgian RF has a first pic each time or so it seems...

Yesterday the Palace issued a statement in which it said that the papers assuming " there's a rift between HM and
his youngest son are in line with the thruth" .King Albert is furious at his youngest, again!!!Laurent defends his trip with
the lamest of excuses by saying he had to visit some wildlife environmental project in the jungle.........
He's so daft he probably didn't even know it's there in the first place. He also flew to Angola while in the
neighbourhood,again on Kabila's private jet......We,as a rule,never call names to living Royals.That's good.
But as there is an exception to every rule,Laurent is the knucklehead no-one wants to be seen with, the risée
of his generation in the RF's.Thank God he has a wife who's above all this and is widely respected and loved by
all in the Family, amazing Clair, how she keeps up with this petit enfant.

His actions also, again, stirred cries in parliament to stop the dotation of Laurent and his sister Princess Astrid.
Unlike we here in The Netherlands where we don't do free-loaders,in Belgium all members of the RF get an
apanage.Parliament requests a stop of the dotation and urges Laurent to find himself a job. It's the umptiest
case in which Laurent is involved, ranging from speed tickets to fraude with Navy funds used on his house and
embazzlement with funds for a foundation he had for pets....Spoiled rotten brat, and still always complaining he
has such a tough time being the youngest member of the RF and always had....Oh,bogus Laurent, fou, you blew
all chances time and time again, and you did it yourself, you have only yourself to blame for each mess you find yourself in.

And again,Laurent has been at it without the knowledge of HM The King and the government
( which can not really call itself that after the longest ever period of being a demissionary one...).

Laurent organised a meeting between two Libyan diplomats last week in Brussels. The two
oppose Khadafi and want to oust the present Libyan ambassador to Belgium who still is
a Khadaffi supporter.

All hell broke loose in Brussels, both at the Palace as well as in government circles as PM
Yves Leterme will have talks with the Prince and strict rules will apply regarding his
behaviour,he will also be curtailed on his dotation.

Really, honestly,I feel deeply sorry for Princess Clair,an asset to the RF who does everything
she possibly can to assist her parents-in-law whereever she can,but is married to this living
walking talking embarresment.I pity Albert and Paola too.

Prince Laurent gave statement opposing eachother, one was that he was to give up his grant,
and the other, indeed,he denied that and will not give up his grant of 300.000 euro annually.
