One of Alix's sisters is there, I believe Irene,  so had to be during a visit of hers. 1908  sounds right as they are slightly older than the playing on the deck film  of 1907 .  Sarushka  had the right OTMA order of course .... it was quite a family  studded occasion...., Sunshine Aunt and husband, Uncle Michale as well as Alix's sister were there. I wonder if Alix took this

You re right. Its Irene.

Me again... LOL
I was trying to guess the yesr for this picture. Then i had a doubt: was Alix in mourning? For whom?
Any ideas?

1908. It's in Beinecke album #5, page 40:

More photos of her in the same dress are on pgs 42-45.

Thanks. I thought it was a black dress, so i was wondering wether she was in mourning. Thanks Sarah, as usual.

That I don't know. Some one with a broader knowledge of the Romanovs and European royalty -- like Svetabel, for example -- may be able to answer.

If the dress was black, and the year was 1908, the Empress may have marked 30 years since her mother's death (1878-1908). My idea though. Is that possible?

I'm looking for a big photo of OTMA, dated 1902-3 of the four girls in matching coats and fluffy hats in front of a palace. thank you. :)

good grief I must of meant this for another thread. There was a photo of the  back of one of OTMA ....and people said it  yes was Olga...around 1908... Ernie was in the foreground. Hosted on on Image stack...was something removed? Can't find it now of course :/
