Thijs, the visit of the King of Württemberg fueled rumours that his son-in-law Fritz of Wied,Marietjes son, would possibly be the future Heir to the Dutch Throne.Juliana was just 3 years, and Queen Wilhelmina had suffered several miscarriages. The visit included talks about Fritz's possibilities in it's framework. But that was highly frowned upon here, the dutch didn't wish/want any other House then the House of Orange.
They ditched the very idea.

On a personal level, the Wieds, specially Fritz and Pauline, were on very good terms with the dutch RF.

Once again, the pictures/images you provide are marvellous!

Thanks for the info Lucien. I first thought the visit of the Wurttemberg King and Queen to Wilhelmina were a kind of reconcilition between the two royal houses because fo the incident that Wilhelmina had said that she found it very strange that a prince of Wied (Marie`s eldest son) would marry princess Pauline of Wurttemberg (Wilhelmina`s niece).

I posted the picture of King Karl of Wurttemberg on this thread but I meant to do so on the thread about queen Sophie, so I move it to that thread since it is more logic to place it there.
