KarlandZita, thanks for posting the beautiful and stunning pictures of Grandduchess Charlotte. She and her 5 sisters had been beautiful women. I had seen some pictures of them in "Royalty Between The Wars" by William Mead Lalor.
From that book I learned that Grandduchess Charlotte had an elder sister, Grandduchess Marie-Adelaide. She was born in 1894 and suceeded her father, Grandduke Guilliaume in 1912. She was convinced to be sovereign by divine right and therefore meddled into the political affairs of the grand duchy. After WWI she was accused of a pro-German stance. IN 1919 she was persuaded to abdictate in order to preserve the monarchy and was succeeded by Charlotte. She was forced to leave Luxemburg and became a nun. As far as I know she died in 1924.
I am interested in the relationship between Charlotte and her sister Marie-Adelaide after she left Luxemburg. Does anybody know whether they had any contact? Has anybody more information about her?
How was the relationship between Carlotte and her four younger sisters, Hilda Princess Adolph of Schwarzenberg, Antonia Crown Princess of Bavaria, Sophie Princess Ernest Heinrich of Saxony and Elizabeth Princess Louis-Philipp of Thurn and Taxis'? Does anybody have information about them?
Thanks, Gabriella.
