Happy belated birthday Ivan! Elvis is the only person we dare to refer to as a "King" in the States...although the Kennedy's are often treated like our version of the Royal Family, lol.

Then you also share birthday with Shirley Bassey, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine of Denmark :)
To this day I think Mary and Frederik should have included Elvis and Shirley in the twins' names, hehe.

On my birthday in 1629 (March 19, now; March 9, then OS) Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich was born. Later, still in a Russian vein, ballet and theater impresario Diaghilev, came along.

I also share a birthday with two famous explorers/ adventurers of the Victorian era: David Livingstone (I presume) and  Sir Richard Burton (of Arabian Nights translation fame).

I must also admit , in my lifetime two notorious Nazis were celebrating birthdays with me on the 19th:Albert Speer and Adolf Eichmann. Yikes!

My birthday (Dec. 6) is the same as Nicky's name day - the Feast of St. Nicholas.

Hi,

February 12th is my birthday.
Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln were both born on this day in 1809.

Lady Jane Grey was beheaded on this day in 1554;  and since I suffer sometimes from neck pain and sore throat, I often wonder if the axe that landed on her neck, also landed on mine!!

I share mine with Grand Duchess Maria N!
June 26 is also Independence Day in Madagascar, the day the UN came into existence, the first movie theater in the US opens, and Flag Day in Romania, as well as the birthdays of Zeng Jinlian (tallest woman ever!) and Derek Jeter (Yankees baseball player).

Humorously, fear not, Larry! From the information sources that I have read, it was not a botched job, as the executioner knew his business and only needed one stroke. Thus your annual (?)"sympathy pains" should be of VERY short duration!

With best regards for a continuing good (and HEALTHY!) New Year,  AP.

Larry, perhaps you should be thankful that you do not share an anniversary with the Duke of Monmouth. His execution really was botched - no fewer than five chops!

My birthday is July 4th(Independence day!) and I share my birthday with:

Queen Sonja of Norway
Prince Michael of Kent
Kathleen Kennedy (Townsend)
Gloria Stuart (who played Older Rose in Titantic)

And many others too. And if I am right, 4th July is O.S date for July 17th.

I share my birthday with Tsar Boris III of Bulgaria :D  (30th of Jan) he was born 90 years before me so that's kind of cool.

Also I share my birthday with Christian Bale who was born ten years before me.  *Little fact: Christian first movie role was as Alexei from the movie "Anastasia: The mystery of Anna"

Hi,

Thanks Ann and AP for your sympathetic posts...

I now remember about the poor Duke of Monmouth - 5 chops - YIKES!!!!!
And also, poor Mary, Queen of Scots too - it took 3 chops to sever her lovely head....
Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown;  but much more uneasy when it's not attached to ones shoulders!!!

Have a wonderful 2012 to you both....

Larry
