Well, i was very interested in knowing where was the tennis court in Tsarskoe, after looking many photographs i´m quite sure it was in the courtyard inside the Feodorovsky Gorodok, just behind the building that housed the banqueting hall.

I hope you understand what i mean with the photographs:

Photo taken by Maria. Notice the wall and the part of the building with the red arrow.

Here is the rest of that photo. It shows Anastasia and an officer on the other side of the net ...plus two officers are sitting out sit the court
with what looks like a dog.....thank you for your detective work in locating the court!  How interesting of Marie to choose a high point to take her photo.

Thank you for posting the pic blessotma!

I think I see the Empress sitting on the bench talking with an officer.

To me this could be Rasputin with  some one ( AF? Anya? ) who is doing embroidery

Yep, it certainly does look like him! And although they usually met at Anya's cottage, he could very well be there too, it's only a short walk away...

I can't say that I see Rasputin in that photo. The fgure seems to be much leaner than Grigory, more narrow-waisted and elongated and with what may be some sort of military cap on his head. He also seems in some sort of contact with the female, with his left arm extended over her shoulders.

He looks to me as though he's in uniform - the white summer jacket.

This thread entire thread is eerie - beginning with the initial photo of the tennis match and ending with speculation about the figures seated on the bench courtside.  I'd  never known where the tennis court was located, until just now.  Also, in studying the photo, I felt almost transported to a carefree summer day all those years ago.  I could imagine myself on the path and hearing the sound of light laughter from the court, while the scent of freshly mown grass fills my nostrils.
