There was somewhere a thread about plans of the palaces. I think that the plan of the Marble Palace is the most unique .
Rinaldi wanted to use every meter of the territory which he had got.

I f you read La nuit  blanche de Michel de Grèce (The white night I don't know if it exist in english) which developps the life of one of the konstantinovsky's child; you could discover that it was in fact one of their palace (with Pavlovsk and Strelna)-so you are totally right...

Svetabel your photographs are marvelous, thank you so much for posting them for all of us to enjoy.  

Posting KR's study at the time in which he lived is perfect!  To be able to look at it then, and at how it looks now is too wonderful!  Actually they have done a very good job of restoring it haven't they?  The wall coverings are beautiful, does anyone know what they were made of?  Foil of some sort or gold cloth, or what?  

Did you take the photographs?  I envy you living right there and being able to tour these marvelous palaces in person!

I scanned the photos from a book, as taking shots inside palaces/museums is always a real ordeal :(  becouse of the lighting. But the interiors are indeed marvelous I can say !!! ::)

Queen Olga lived in Pavlovsk those times.

Thank you for confirming. I thought that I had read somewhere that she lived in Pavlovsk until the government asked her to leave in late 1918.

I think the joined another exiled relative, her son, in Switzerland I think...
