King Albert II and Queen Paola will host a party at Laeken Castle for socially engaged youngsters between the ages of 13/14 to 17/18 who are involved with supporting fellow countrymen.

TM wish to express their gratitude and appreciation for their involvement by inviting 600 youngsters,60 from each province, for a grand spectacle at the Palace and the Palace grounds on september 3rd.

Think it's a wonderfull initiative. :)

A few weeks ago there was a very interesting and great programm on Belgian TV about Queen Paola called;" Paola, the voice of the Queen".The reason for this title was that Belgians know their King and his voice and know their Queen, but her voice is seldom heard. The Queen herself was/is aware of that as well and wished to do something about that. She wasn't known for speaking dutch(flemish)that well, but, the program proved the opposite,HM tends to talk slowly, either in dutch, french or Italian, but she's great. An interview was not Queen Paola's idea of showing herself, she favored talks with old-time friends from Italy,The Netherlands and Belgium and let them talk and ask her questions. The result was an unique program with in depth views of the Queens life, and humour wasn't forgotten,it is a very witty lady.HM was filmed and had talks while in Venice for the Biënnale, she has a passion for contemporary art.HM and her friends talked about her childhood, soon after she was born, her then 14 year old sister died,of her brothers during WWII,one went north to join the partizans, another heading south to join the Allied Forces and was killed in action,HM;"And he was so beautifull!!Belissima, belissima, stupendo stupendo,(incredible),how the whole family had to seek shelter in a convent to escape Mussolini's gang, her marriage and how love conquered every obstacle within it.

I've translated the interview and will post it later this week.

With the Queen and the King still abroad to recover/holidays a burglar intruded the grounds of Chateau Belvedère,the private residence of TM The King and Queen of the Belgians. He managed to burglar the house of a member of the Palace staff on the grounds, and robbed some personal documents.

Four hours later the man was arrested near the dutch city of Breda for speeding with a stolen car.It turned out to be the same guy who was previously arrested and convicted last may after intruding the residence of Crown Prince Filip and Crown Princess Mathilde.(Convicted?just for a few days/weeks,can't recall now, anyway,it wasn't anything worth mentioning, rediculous).

The police stated that since TM are abroad there was a " lesser security alert"....

Note:Can't call them names can I?Just think of anything in that spectrum....the morons.

A spokesman of the Royal Palce stated today;"The Palace has no specific feelings in regard to this fake story".

Why and What?Last night the Belgian french (public)tv station RTBF interrupted their regular program with a - bogus - story that the dutch/flemish part of the country had declared it's independence. It had all of Belgium fooled and many more in this utterly tasteless act, even stating that HM The King had fled the country by military aircraft.

The Wallone and Flemish parts of the country don't sit well, has been so for decades, but this bogus scared the bejesus out of most on both parts of the language "barrier".Today RTBF issued a statement saying the bogus was/is meant to start a discussion on the future of the country. But that discussion is an ongoing saga/soap for at least 4 or 5 decades or more,it resulted already in Belgium becoming a Federal State a few decades ago under King Baudouin's Reign.

Note:Some pictures have the wrong captions, when pics shown with Prince Laurent and Princess Claire, captions should read Princess Louise as to the child they hold on their arms, instead of Aymeric.
