ah,so where does it come from , a royal estate? I know The British Royals would call themselves Count/ess Balmoral when travelling privately.
At least not an estate. Have no clue where the use comes from.

Eric VdV

But it is a village in Belgium Eric,I'm sure you know that,so it could just as well derive from there. :)

Of course, I know, Retie, Lucien, but I have no clue on a connection with the royal Family.

Hi Lucien, you are our expert on the Belgians. What day did Leopold III take his Oath in 1934, and did all the Kings take the Inauguration Oath in Parliament? is it the same ceremony as given by Leopold I or has it changed with the times. many thanks

Thanks, Lucien, and sorry for the late reply.
King Leopold III took the oath in parliament on 23 February 1934, 6 days after the death of his father. Traditionally this happens before the 14th day of death of the previous sovereign.
The inauguration oath of King Leopold I was a bit different speaking of location: not in parliamant, but it was in open air on a tribune in front of the church Saint Jacob On Coudenberg, next to the Royal Palace.
