« on: August 11, 2004, 11:33:44 AM »
I recently purchased a book called Nicholas and Alexandra: The Last Imperial Family of Tsarist Russia off of ebay. I received it yesterday and it is an excellent book! Does anyone else think so?

Love the book. Congrats on having it and enjoy!!

BTW, this was the first book I purchased online at Amazon and didn't figure in the taxes and the conversion from Canadian to American money. To date its the most expensive book I have at a lovely price of $130.00 Canadian.

It really is a lovely book to have in your collection.

I saw the Nicholas and Alexandra exhibition in Delaware
several years ago. I think this is the companion book to that exhibit??? Many of my books were packed for a move that has been delayed, and I can't get to it this evening  :(

Oh my gosh, I'm from DE! I saw the same exhibit--it was great! Even my hubby enjoyed it--not that he had any choice.  ;)

grandduchessella, thought the exhibit was beautifully done, and boy do I understand about your husband having "no choice"  ;) The spontaneous monologs on
the IF, and related matters, are humored in this house...but to both my son's credit, always with kindness...Can just hear them thinking..."there she goes again".
Seeing the wallpaper from the murder room stopped me in my tracks.....

Hi Otmafan!

Yes, this book is indeed too great. So many possessions and personal items! It was one of the first book i ever got on the Romanovs, and i've been thrilled with it ever since :) The photograph section is especially lovely, and so moving to see things such as the diaries, and private album pages. Also the section on Empress Alexandra's dresses! So glad you got a copy. It is wonderful :)
