I hate to say this, but I am going to anyway, and I may sound like a gossip columnist in the National Enquirer. Prince Harry does not bear any resemblance to anyone else in the Royal family. I wonder why ?
Has anyone broached this subject before ? I cant wade through everything to find out.

I am quickly jumping into my armour.

You are not the first to have flagged this as an issue Pavlov. Some have asserted that HRH Prince Harry bears a striking resemblance to James Hewitt, a former lover of Diana, Princess of Wales. One thing is for certain, that should there be any evidence that HRH Prince Harry is not the progeny of HRH the Prince of Wales, it won't be confirmed in living memory.

I always thought Harry resembled (except in the eyes) both Charles and Phillip--depending on the angle of the photograph.

That story has been been  de-bunked many times.   The Princess did not even meet  Hewett until after Harry's birth. It is obvious to me that the brothers are  siblings- from the same parents. This story goes around the blockevery now& Then,  and either is ignored [ how many denials & proof does it take?] or, it is  discredited  yet again. It is none of our business anyway.

I agree with what Robert says and would add two points.

First, Prince Harry bears a definite resemblance to his maternal uncle, Earl Spencer. The ginger hair very clearly comes from the Spencer side.

Second, Harry has a double among his Spencer cousins. During the TV coverage of Diana's funeral, the camera cut from the gun carriage to one of Diana's sisters arriving at the church with her family. My instant reaction was, 'What's Harry doing there?' because her son was not only much Harry's age but the image of him. Unfortunately, I can't remember which of Diana's sisters it was, and Burke's Peerage doesn't help, because it turns out that all three sisters had sons born within a few months of one another.

Now that you mention it, Ann, I recall that as well.  In between tears, I wondered how Harry  got from point a to b in such a short time. Anyway, I think his ginger hair suits him

I'm not normally 'lookist', but I think Harry is the better looking of the two, and the more interesting individual. Maybe it's the press coverage, but William always seems a bit bland, and the fact that Harry is portrayed as the 'problem' arouses my sympathy.

I have seen Harry a few times, not that I  ever met him personally.  but at official functions and  a club or 2. He seems very good natured, even if he has had poor judgement   at times. Even at that, I have an empathy for him-  I wore a full dress SS uniform when I was much younger.  It was not authentic, but came from a studio sale. MGM perhaps.  Still, he is a young man and we all make mistakes so, I tend to not pay much attention to his anymore than  my own now. I also see what you mean about William.  I think it probably the responsibility and pressure he is under. After all, he is slated to take the throne, eventually. As  for portraits, well, they both have been under cameras  since birth and no  that they a  adults, are certainly  going to have more portraits painted in the course of years. Sometimes it seems that is what  occupies the most of the Queen's time- sitting for artists.

The web is abuzz this morning with photographs of Prince Harry cavorting naked in a Las Vegas hotel room with a young lady, apparently at the end of a late night game of strip billiards.  The photos themselves are easily accessible on the web and are clearly the prince, and will no doubt result in a stern dressing down from his father, grandparents, and his PR aides.

But what struck me as interesting was the media response this morning.  I caught the story on CNN during my drive to my office this morning, and their general consensus was "well, he's a 27 year bachelor, he's entitled to have fun."

Then I checked BBC and the British press, and there was deafening silence on the topic.  Will be interesting to see how this plays over the pond.

Copy from BRMB:

" Telegraph poll, "Do Prince Harry's antics damage the Royal Family's image?", these were the responses:

45.41% No, he's just being an ordinary young man and the Royals are better for it
28.67% It doesn't matter that he gets naked, he was stupid to get photographed
23.78% Yes, he represents the British monarchy and it is completely unsuitable
2.13 % This kind of thing would never have happened in my day ? "

Online gossip sites here in the US have published some of the pictures.

I'm surprised that Harry, or at least his security team, let anyone photograph him with their phones. It was a closed room with few people, so it's not like it was too dark or crowded to notice. Harry may have been too drunk to care but where was anyone else?

The pictures (yes, I looked LOL) are relatively harmless if they were anyone else his age. I mean, I wouldn't be thrilled if it was my son, but there wasn't anything apparently illegal going on. However, for his position and coming off of such a whirlwind of good PR with the Jubilee and the Olympics, it really doesn't look to good.

Well GDElla,  many of us have already seen nude pictures of Charles [hotel room in Paris], Andrew {romping in a forest in Canada] and Willliam [ the changing room at a water sports event at St. Andrew's] so Harry is no surprise.. I do not think there will be any repercussions. I have never heard of "strip billiards" though. That must be an interesting game.

Why would there have been repercussions though from being illicitly photographed getting changed in your hotel room or sports changing room?  Neither Charles nor William were responsible for a behavioural lapse, they were simply photographed by unscrupulous people.  So was Harry, but the circumstances are entirely different and he should have known better.

I think the intense sympathy he received as a 12 year old at the loss of his mother was more than well deserved at the time, but I think it has been ongoing to an extent that has done him no favours as adult.  He doesn't seem to be learning from past mistakes.  Just my two cents...
