I recently rewatched EdwardVII on DVD.  I loved it as much as the first time around. I paid $A 69.95. Ouch! But it was worth it.  Knowing a lot more about royalty the 2nd time around I was particularly impressed by the historical accuracy, eg Vicky and Fritz's wedding was portrayed just like in paintings I have seen, down to where people were standing and the costumes.Robert Hardy was great as Albert. He also played Leicester I think in Elizabeth R.
My Region 4 DVD of Edward VII has no extra features eg commentaries, not an uncommon problem with region 4 releases of TV series. Someone mentioned Annette Crosbie also played Katherine of Aragon in the Six Wives of Henry VIII. Watch for the cry she gives when Henry tells her he is going to divorce her. Although I havent seen this for over 30 years I swear it is the same cry Victoria gives when Albert dies in Edward VII.
I think the documentary series about Lord Mountbatten was called The Life and Times of Lord Louis Mountbatten. I think it was made in the early to mid 1970s. It was narrated by Mountbatten. I can still hum the credits music, can anyone tell me what the piece was.

The Life and Times of Lord Louis Mountbatten credits music.  Was it the Preobrajensky March?

I absolutely adore this series!

All the actors did a marvelous job and the casting just felt perfect. I personally don't like Edward VII very much since I find him very selfish and hate how he treated his wife but the series did a great job showing him as a multilayer person that there were times where I did sympathize with him. I loved how they showed the complicated history between Bertie and his mother, nobody came out as the villain.

Timothy West was fantastic and Annette Crosbie really proved fit to play a Queen, and Felicity Kendal was charming but I loved Helen Ryan most of all.

It's a real shame they just don't make them like this anymore. Watching this only makes me upset that nobody at the BBC suggested a series on Queen Victoria herself! The longest reigning monarch and easily one of the most iconic. I mean after all when people think of England its always Henry VIII, Elizabeth I and Victoria. After doing those 2 it amazes me that nobody said "Victoria next". I mean its not like her life was short on drama/conflict, they could have easily found enough material for 12/13 episodes. I just can't believe it slipped though and now will never be properly done since I don't trust the entertainment industry today to do it right as "The White Queen" proved.

Yes!  There were two books released in 1974, about the time the TV series was originally shown.  The author was David Butler (who co-wrote the miniseries with John Gorrie).  They are titled Edward the Seventh: Prince of Hearts and Edward the Seventh: The Peacemaker.  The publisher was Futura Publications Limited.

Maybe you could get them through Bookfinder or similar?  :)

Thank you very much, I'll try find the books!
