On 12 December 1877 Ignatiev were created Counts of the Russian Empire. Does anyone know more about the family of Ignatiev? Do they still exist? I would like to know if they are represented in Finland.

See:

Their main estate seems to have been Chertolino in Tver Province:

Count Alexey Alexandrovich Ignatyev (1877 - 1954) was a senior officer who continued his career in the Red Army!

One branch emigrated to Canada, where (Count) Michael Ignatieff is the current leader of the opposition as leader of the Liberal Party:

Берёзы севера мне милы,—
Их грустный, опущённый вид,
Как речь безмолвная могилы,
Горячку сердца холодит.
