Does anyone have a picture of Melanie Countess of Risenfels, second wife of Archduke Franz Salvator?

Just reading the wikipedia entry for Infante Afonso, Duke of Porto that he was engaged to Archduchess Marie Valerie until her uncle's wife, Marie Therese of the exiled Miguelist branch of the House of Braganza, helped put an end to end.

Just wondering if there is more information on it.

Marie-Valerie died at a relatively young age. Does anyone know what is her cause of death?

She died of lymphoma, a form of cancer.

Thank you. That information seemed almost confidential: I didn't see it mentioned anywhere.

Not really...I think the cause of her death is fairly common knowledge. According to her sister Gisela, she was resigned to death and in a letter to her sister-in-law Therese in Munich, Gisela commented that she had the impression that Marie-Valerie would be disappointed if she recovered. Perhaps she was just a realist or had developed a death wish similar to that of her mother, Empress Elisabeth.

There is not much information on Marie Valerie (or Gisele) in French or in English (those are the only two languages that I can read). Wikipedia entries are minimal. Unless somebody here knows of a few books that I am not aware of.

Archduchess Marie Valerie at 1910, with her father, Emperor Franz Joseph and her husband, Archduke Franz Salvator.

Same year, with father Franz Joseph and sister, Archduchess Gisela, then Princess in Bavaria.

So late, I was also very curious to see a photo of her and I finally found one. Melanie von Risenfels in 1945, taken from the ÖNB: Here

And a photo of Archduke Franz Salvator's illegitimate son (with Princess Stephanie von Hohenlohe), taken from the NPG: Here

Princess Stephanie von Hohenlohe (neé Richter), mistress of Archduke Franz Salvator: Here

Poor Marie Valerie!!! :-(
